my husband and i are sort of reformed junk-a-holics. we’re both complete nostalgia junkies and we tend to amass quite a bit of “stuff” if we let ourselves. over the past few months we’ve been semi-winding down our etsy shop and cleaning out the closets and drawers and shelves. we’ve both stopped frequenting the local thrift stores. all of that being said, we adore the treasure island flea. wild horses couldn’t keep us away.
it goes down the last weekend of every month, and we try to make it. it’s always a great day, whether or not we buy anything (but we usually do). there are a few rows (not too many) of vendors selling chalky painted old furniture, pallet and wine barrel pieces, vintage and re-constructed clothing, and a few selling good old fashioned junk. there are also ladies with wagons walking around selling booze. an afternoon mimosa or bloody mary does wonders for the aching feet. there are also rows of food trucks (which we can’t usually partake in), and of course treasure island. treasure island is a complete wonder to me. the views alone make me marvel at how utterly gorgeous our little city by the bay is.
